UIM Records keeps Deep Affection Riddim tight and brisk, a four-song 2019 dancehall set that runs just about nine minutes and leans into a clean modern patter rather than any heavy experiment. D Major’s “Amazing” opens with the kind of easy glide that gets a riddim moving, while Prohgres doubles up with “Deep Affection” in clean and raw versions, a smart move that lets the voice and the attitude do the talking in two different shades. Urbann’s “Gone Deep” closes things out with the strongest pull, slipping in with a sharper, more persuasive edge than the rest of the lineup and leaving the instrumental’s mood hanging in the air.
