Days Riddim – Vinyl Shotz

The Days Riddim is a tight little 2008 dancehall set with just seven tracks, and the short roster keeps the focus on a handful of names rather than any sprawling showcase. A Gear opens with “Five Days, ” Fredo Faya follows with “Tend Loreille, ” and then Busy Signal, Munga and Skarra Mucci take over the tougher side of the rhythm through a run of Vinyl Shotz remixes. Vinyl Shotz clearly had a hand in shaping the whole thing, not just supplying the riddim bed but reworking key cuts into their own versions, which gives the release a more producer-led feel than a plain compilation.
