Eyesus opens the Dancefloor Riddim with “Party Nice Again, ” and that tune pretty much sets the tone: lean, kinetic dancehall aimed squarely at the selector and the late-night crowd. Exco Levi’s “Dancefloor” gives the set its cleanest hook, while Tiffie’s “Wine Up Miself” and 5 Star’s “Full A Gyal” lean into the more playful, bashy side of the package, with Jahcube and Faze adding a tougher edge through “Protect Me” and “Stamina Man. ” The riddim runs through six cuts in all, keeping the arrangement tight rather than overloading the beat, which helps the production’s bounce and space come through. Released in 2012, it sits in that period when stripped-back, club-ready riddims were built to cut through dances fast and leave room for the vocal personality to do the heavy lifting.
