Conquera Riddim – Trainline Records

Conquera leans on a rootsy, militant shuffle, the kind of riddim that leaves room for singers to carry the weight. Trainline Records lines up veterans and newer voices around that pulse, and Glen Washington’s “God Of Our Fathers” feels like the natural anchor, warm and devotional against the harder edge of Pressure’s “Conquering Lion. ” Fyakin, Ghandi and Little Hero keep the theme of struggle and survival front and centre, while Phillip Fraser’s “Coming Home” adds a more reflective turn. It’s an eight-cut set, and the title lands like a promise rather than a slogan.
