COGNITION RIDDIM produced by KINGSTONE RECORDS 2009
Cognition Overview
In 2009, a special reggae track base was created in the studio for the Cognition Riddim. The musicians and engineers worked together to build a solid roots sound. The culture arranger gave the project a clear direction, focusing on a conscious and authentic reggae style. This helped each artist bring their own message and feeling to the music. The riddim was produced by KINGSTONE RECORDS, a label from Germany known for supporting reggae and dancehall music. KINGSTONE RECORDS has worked with many international artists since the early 2000s and is respected for helping spread Jamaican music in Europe and beyond. Several well-known artists added their voices to the Cognition Riddim. Capleton, a major figure in reggae and dancehall, recorded “Liberation Time.” Capleton is famous for his energetic performances and for songs like “Tour.” His track on this riddim carries his usual message of freedom and upliftment. Gentleman, a popular German reggae singer, contributed “Moment Of Truth.” Gentleman is known for his album “Confidence,” which reached the top of the German charts in 2004. His smooth vocals and honest lyrics fit the roots sound of the riddim. Morgan Heritage, a Grammy-winning reggae band, performed “Rampage.” They are known for their strong family harmonies and for winning the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2016. Cecile, a talented singer from Jamaica, added “Friend.” Cecile is known for her unique voice and for hits like “Can You Do the Work” with Sean Paul.
