By 2006, reggae riddim albums were still leaning hard on compact vocal lineups and a single groove carried by different voices, and Charm fits right into that moment with a tidy five-track run. The cut that jumps out first is George Nooks’ “Trap By Her Charm, ” a song title that tells you exactly where the mood is headed: sweet, romantic, and a little sly. DYCR’s “Cunnu Mounu” pulls things in a rougher, more streetwise direction, while Jason Mighty’s “Life Means More” gives the project some lift before the version closes it out.
