Carnival Riddim – Nu Generation Studios

Out of Trinidad’s 2014 Carnival season, Nu Generation Studios cut a compact five-song soca set that keeps the focus on the road-ready vocal cuts rather than any long-winded framework. Kes The Band opens with “Spirit, ” Blaxx follows with “Hooray, ” and Olatunji Yearwood’s “What We Know” is the sharpest of the bunch, while JW and Blaze and Nikita Browne round out the lineup with “Somebody” and “Solo. ” The release runs just 16 minutes and came out on April 1, 2014, with Julian “Juelio” Nelson steering Nu Generation’s production from Diego Martin, Trinidad. Carnival Riddim was issued as a five-track EP.
