    Caribbean Style Release Details

    VP Records issued Caribbean Style in 2003 as a Riddim Driven set, but the pulse behind it comes from Richie Stephens and his Pot Of Gold camp. Stephens was already known as a Jamaican singer and producer who moved comfortably between dancehall, reggae, and R and B, and the riddim sits right in that lane: polished, bass-forward, and tuned for sound system play. It has the kind of early-2000s bounce that leaves room for both singjay melody and harder toast-style delivery.

    The opening stretch sets the tone fast. Richie Stephens and Bounty Killer’s title cut gives the riddim its identity, with Bounty Killer bringing the trademark grit while Stephens smooths out the chorus. Wayne Marshall’s “Roll Deep” and Elephant Man’s “Good To Go” push the energy higher, while Beenie Man and Chrissie D’s “Ohh Lah Lah Lah” adds a playful, flirtier counterweight. Bounty Killer’s “Try Again” and Assassin’s “Yard Man” are the tougher edges here, the kind of cuts that anchor juggling sets.
