Captian Overview

In 2011, reggae fans found a new favorite in the dub release built around the Captian Riddim. This sound came at a time when roots reggae was seeing a fresh wave of interest. The dub cut stood out for its deep bass, echoing drums, and soulful melodies, reminding listeners of classic reggae from the 1970s and 1980s. A big part of this project’s success is the roots craftsmanship behind it. The riddim’s structure pays respect to the old-school reggae style but brings in a modern touch. The producer, YARD VYBZ ENTERTAINMENT, is known for supporting authentic reggae and dancehall music. The label has released several notable riddims and helped launch the careers of many reggae artists. Their focus on quality and roots culture has earned them respect in reggae circles. This release brought together some of reggae’s most respected voices. SIZZLA’s “MURDER STAR” delivers his unique energy and message.
