One Camp usually leans into roots-heavy, musician-led projects, so Cabo Love Riddim feels like a warmer, more song-driven turn from the Zurich label. The set, produced by Elijah Salomon with Mamadou Saidou Barry, pairs younger voices like L3xicon and Elijah Salomon himself with veterans Angel Doolas and Mike Brooks, whose “Compassion” adds a reassuring, foundation-singer weight to the lineup. There’s a calm, devotional feel running through the titles and performances, with Diha Trawally’s “Dounia” and L3xicon’s “Me Nah Know” pushing the riddim in different directions without breaking its easy pulse. Mike Brooks has been in reggae for more than 50 years, and his presence gives the project extra gravity. Sequenced as a compact five-song vocal run before the instrumental “One Camp Allstars” cut, it feels arranged to move from voice to version in a straight, intentional line.
