BUSHY BUSHY RIDDIM produced by EXTRA EXTRA (GREENSLEEVES RHYTHM ALBUM #15)
Bushy Bushy Overview
Bushy Bushy Riddim made its entrance in Jamaica’s dancehall scene in 2001. The sound was built for the streets, using the popular anthem base that shaped much of dancehall music that year. The riddim was a showcase for several artists who each brought their own style. Alizade stepped up with the track “Energy,” adding a lively touch to the project. Capleton, known for his hit “Jah Jah City,” featured twice—first with Sizzla and Lexxus on “Dem Gal Mix,” and also solo on “Galong Galong.” Sizzla, famous for albums like “Da Real Thing,” helped give the riddim a strong voice. Lexxus, who had chart success with “Full Hundred,” added his own flair to “Dem Gal Mix.” Cecile joined with “Spider,” bringing her unique style as one of dancehall’s leading women. Danny English contributed “Right Ya Now,” adding more variety to the lineup. Behind the scenes, the riddim was produced by EXTRA EXTRA (GREENSLEEVES RHYTHM ALBUM), a project from Greensleeves Records. Greensleeves is a UK label known for releasing many big dancehall and reggae riddims, including the influential “Diwali Riddim.” Their work helped push dancehall beyond Jamaica to global listeners. Bushy Bushy Riddim captured the energy of 2001’s dancehall, with its street anthem sound and a collection of standout tracks from top artists.
