Don Andre’s “Go Pon Yuh Head” gives Mad Sitar Riddim its sharpest opening punch, and Chemist Records / DJ Megatron keep the whole set moving with a lean eight-track dancehall run that never lingers too long. The title is a clue to the sound: a sly, Eastern-flavoured lead line cuts through the drum pattern, giving the riddim a slightly off-kilter edge without losing the street-level drive. Esco’s “Bad It Up, ” Lia’s “Wuk Yuh Body, ” and Razor B’s “Round And Round” lean into the party side, while Shokryme comes in twice on “Wuk Fah” in raw and clean versions, which feels like the real centre of gravity here. Vybrant’s “Glide And Wine” keeps the energy slick and physical, but Don Andre’s cut is the one that leaves the strongest imprint.
