BOAT RIDDIM produced by WEAPON X INTERNATIONAL 2011
Boat Overview
From the first drum pattern, the Boat Riddim was made for the street. In a small Kingston studio, WEAPON X INTERNATIONAL shaped the sound that would soon echo through dancehall parties. Known for sharp production and a knack for capturing the real energy of bashment, WEAPON X INTERNATIONAL has worked with both rising and established names. Their label, Weapon X International, has pushed out several well-received riddims, building a reputation for crisp, punchy mixes. The riddim journey began at the mixing board, where the engineer—called the mixing board king—balanced every instrument and vocal until the groove was perfect. Each artist brought their own flavor: Arofat delivered “Get Bad” with fierce confidence, while Bryko’s “Start War” showed his lyrical fire. Mr Glamarus, who gained attention with “Caan Handle,” added his smooth, melodic style. Navi Shellz Koyoti jumped in with “Freestyle,” and Rseenal’s “Drop Soap” gave the riddim a raw, streetwise edge. With the final mix complete, Boat Riddim hit the streets and airwaves. Selectors kept it spinning for its classic yard beat, giving old-school dancehall fans something to celebrate. The riddim’s energy and the artists’ performances made sure it stayed in rotation, lighting up dance floors and sound systems across Jamaica and beyond.
