Blueberry Haze Riddim – Maximum Sound

Maximum Sound’s Blueberry Haze Riddim landed in 2016 as another sharp-edged juggling from Frenchie’s long-running UK-based label, a name that has spent decades moving comfortably between roots pressure and dancehall weight. By then Maximum Sound was already a trusted home for cross-Caribbean cuts and Jamaican voices, and Blueberry Haze sat right in that lane with a clean, modern riddim built for singers rather than sheer noise.

The rhythm has a breezy, rolling swing with a bright melodic hook and enough bass drag to keep it grounded. It feels relaxed on the surface, but the productions around it keep the momentum up, giving the singers space to ride the pocket without ever letting the tune go slack. The moods split between flirtation, herb talk and everyday uplift, which is exactly the kind of balance that makes a juggling last.

Christopher Martin’s “London Queen” is the sweetest cut on the set, all polished melody and easy charisma.
