BLACK JACK RIDDIM produced by YEN PRODUCTIONS 2012
Black Jack Overview
In 2012, dancehall was full of bold riddims and energetic anthems. Among these, the Black Jack Riddim stood out with its strong street anthem base. This heavy, pulsing beat echoed through clubs all over Jamaica and brought dancers to their feet. Compared to other dancehall collections of its time, Black Jack Riddim offered a more unified sound, thanks to the work of the bashment arranger. The arranger made sure every song fit perfectly together, creating a smooth listening experience. YEN PRODUCTIONS produced this collection. Known for working with both new and established artists, YEN PRODUCTIONS helped bring fresh energy to the dancehall scene. Their influence can be seen in the way Black Jack Riddim became a favorite at parties and festivals. The riddim featured several talented artists. Munga delivered his track “Get Wasted,” adding his signature style. Munga is well known for his earlier hit “Bad From Mi Born,” which helped him gain fame in the dancehall world. Jounia Skyy, Keida, and Kurrupt joined forces on “Vybz Whole Night,” showing off catchy hooks and lively verses. Keida, for example, made a name for herself with songs like “Ganja Tea,” and has performed at major festivals. Other artists on the riddim include Bastic with “Party Time,” Milk with “Girl Boss,” and Hollow Point with “Ruff Skank.” Each brought their own flavor, making the collection rich and diverse. The Black Jack Riddim stood tall in 2012, holding its place among the best dancehall releases of the year.
