Big Island Riddim – Zj Dymond / Fullchaarge

ZJ Dymond and Fullchaarge keep Big Island Riddim moving in a mellow, modern roots-reggae lane, with a warm bassline, clean drums and enough space for the singers to lean into the hooks. The four-track set pairs Jahzilee, Heidi Tiffany, Answele and Cathy Matete with ZJ Dymond himself, and the mood stays personal and reflective throughout: “People Fed Up” carries the frustration, “Don’t Call Me” cuts a little sharper, while “You Keep Me Safe” leans more devotional and tender. It’s a compact 2021 release, running just about ten minutes, but it fits neatly into the run of short-form reggae riddims that were keeping producer-driven projects alive that year.
