    1967 rocksteady from Joe Gibbs, Just Like A River Riddim brings together a deep early-JA lineup with Stranger Cole and Gladdy’s Just Like A River at the centre, alongside related cuts from artists like The Pioneers and Roy Shirley. The rhythm is tied to Gibbs’ Amalgamated side and turns up again in later reworks, which helps show how durable the original bassline and melody were.
