Jungle Places wasn’t exactly known for putting out a big-name vocal showcase like this, so Better Place Riddim feels a little more focused and earthy than the title might suggest. The cut that anchors it is Junior Kelly’s “Better Place, ” which leans into that thoughtful roots style he’s always handled so naturally, while Anthony B’s “Angry Faces” pushes the energy harder and gives the juggling a sharper edge. Danny English’s “Even A Dollar” adds a more everyday, struggle-minded angle, and the whole six-track set keeps the vibe tight rather than overcrowded. Coming out in 2004, it sits right in that period when conscious reggae riddims were still carrying a lot of weight, and this one keeps its message rooted in pressure, survival, and a bit of uplift without getting too polished for its own good.
