BELLY FLAT RIDDIM produced by BLACKSTARLINER RECORDS 2012
Belly Flat Overview
Back in 2012, the dancehall scene was full of energy, and bashment rhythms were running every party. That year, the Belly Flat Riddim stood out as one of the most exciting releases. This project was produced by BLACKSTARLINER RECORDS, a label known for pushing African and Caribbean sounds together. The label had already built a reputation for working with both new and established artists, and their productions often got attention in dancehall circles. Belly Flat Riddim brought together a strong lineup of artists. African Shumba led the way with “Belly Flat,” a track that quickly became a favorite in the dance. Mega Jani followed with “Do Yu Best,” showing his skills with catchy lyrics and a smooth flow. Ibel (Jamaica), known for his work on the album “Rastaman Rise,” added “Champion Bubbla,” bringing his roots influence into the mix. Mikey D dropped “Ganjaman,” a song that celebrated Jamaica’s herb culture, and Yuntiman delivered “Chikwereti,” adding his own flavor to the riddim. Each artist gave the riddim a different vibe, but the energy stayed high from start to finish. The combination of tight production and talented voices made this release a big part of the 2012 bashment season. Even today, people remember how these tracks lit up the dance and reminded everyone of the strength of yard studios. The Belly Flat Riddim is a true example of dancehall’s power to move crowds.
