BED FOOT RIDDIM produced by TREE TOP 1999
Bed Foot Overview
In the heart of Jamaica’s dancehall scene, the Bed Foot Riddim began as a studio experiment. The producer known as TREE TOP, who has worked with several key names in dancehall and runs his own independent label, shaped the riddim’s unique sound. With the help of the studio crew, he crafted a rhythm that was both energetic and steady, designed to keep dance floors moving. As the riddim took shape, TREE TOP called on some of the biggest voices in dancehall. Beenie Man, already famous for hits like “Who Am I (Sim Simma),” brought his song “Tool” to the project. Bounty Killer added his powerful style with “Bed Bruk Down.” Buju Banton, known worldwide for “Champion,” also joined in, giving the riddim a boost with his signature vocals. Capleton delivered “Cant Run From It,” while Elephant Man, who would later become known for his lively stage presence, offered “Miss Twiddle It.” The recording sessions were lively, with each artist adding their own flavor. Studio hands worked late into the night, making sure every track fit perfectly. When Bed Foot Riddim finally dropped in 1999, selectors quickly picked it up for their sessions. The riddim’s bashment flow captured the spirit of the era, and its blend of top artists and fresh production helped it become a staple in dancehall culture.
