Beach Ball Overview

The fete rhythm has always been a big part of Caribbean music culture. In 2016, this sound brought the feeling of island parties, or fetes, straight to the dance floors. The rhythm was bright, full of energy, and perfect for Carnival season. It captured the spirit of celebration and togetherness that is so important to soca and dancehall music. The music behind this rhythm was shaped by POWER ICON RECORDS. This label is known for producing strong soca and dancehall tracks. POWER ICON RECORDS has worked with many artists and has helped bring new sounds to the genre. Their influence can be seen in the way they mix traditional soca beats with modern production. This made the fete rhythm stand out during 2016, earning it a place in many Carnival playlists. Three artists helped make this rhythm memorable: Al Fray, Iyara, and Krusher. Each brought their own style to the project. Al Fray’s “I Naa See Dem” was a highlight, showing his unique voice and energy. Iyara’s “No Rubbish” added a playful twist, and Iyara is also known for his work in dancehall, including his time as a member of the Bounty Killer-led Alliance Next Generation. Krusher’s “Twerk” brought even more fun and movement to the rhythm. Looking back, this fete rhythm became an anthem for Carnival in 2016. It helped shape the sound of that year’s celebrations and is still remembered for its lively, joyful vibe.
