Shawn Storm
Shawn Campbell was born in Jamaica. He was introduced to the industry by his mentor, Vybz Kartel in 2007. In 2008, he spit his 1st single on the Remand riddim titled “Ghetto Yutes Be Wise,” which was released by Vybz Kartel’s Adidjaheim Records. In addition, other hits like “Mean It Or Not” and “Evil People Dem” produced by Stephen Di Genius and Jam 2 respectively, put him immediately in the limelight. Campbell began releasing on mixtapes all over the internet and the street and Vybz’s label released more hits for him like “Whine Up Yuh Body Likkle Lady”, “Vybz Part”, and “Mek Dem Mumma Bawl’ on various rhythms. In 2010, he went on further to release “This Is Love” and “My Life” immediately put him on the map, the song went international. The song was number for 5 weeks from January 2011 and he was nominated for several local awards. “Real Man”, Nuh Fraid”, “Girls We Love” and “Money Pon Me Mind” are just a few amongst many that he did in 2012. Campbell was convicted of the murder of Clive Williams, together with his mentor, Vybz Kartel. He has since been incarcerated and he is still at it, growing his career behind bars. He has released numbers like “Lyrical Gallis” which was produced by Head Concussion Record. Kwashawna Records belongs to Shawn and one of their many releases thus far in “Tanbad Rhythm” featuring Vybz Kartel, Masicka, and Danielle D.I.
