Gold Finga Riddim - Jones Ave

Jones Ave’s Gold Finga Riddim landed in 2016 as a sharp, artist-heavy dancehall juggling with a hard, metallic pulse and a clipped mid-tempo drive. The production keeps a taut, aggressive feel that suits big-voice singjay cuts and more gully-minded rides, and the instrumental closes the set cleanly after the vocal versions.

The headline names do a lot of the heavy lifting. Vybz Kartel’s “Strong” gives the riddim its most obvious star power, while Konshens turns “Money Man A Pree” into a hustler’s anthem with the kind of direct, streetwise phrasing he has long made his own. Demarco’s “Wild Bwoy” brings a rougher, rowdier edge, and I-Octane’s “Burnna” adds a steadier, more melodic lift without softening the energy. Shawn Storm’s “Stormy Night” sits comfortably in that darker pocket, and Masicka’s “Any Weh” and Govana’s “Headless Burial” push the project toward the sharper, war-ready side of mid-2010s dancehall.

What makes Gold Finga click is the balance between established names and younger voices. Likkle Dainjah, Myles and Pternsky help widen the field, but the riddim still feels anchored by the Kartel-Konshens-Demarco axis. Jones Ave Records released the project on July 29, 2016, with 20 tracks counting the clean, raw and radio-style versions, and the package reflects a period when dancehall riddims were still judged by how well they could move between crossover polish and straight street energy.
