Harry Toddler is a veteran Jamaican dancehall deejay whose name has been part of the genre’s backbone since the 1990s. Born Patrick Jackson in Kingston and raised around the city’s tough, music-driven neighbourhoods, he came up inspired by the style and stance of artists like Shabba Ranks, then built his own identity through fast, sharp-edged delivery and a voice made for the dance. He first began DJ practice as a boy, and by the early 1990s he was recording at King Jammy’s studio, where early cuts like “Gal Yuh A Lead” introduced him to the wider dancehall audience.
