Released in 2015, Ark Of The Covenant Riddim from Izreal Records brings together a strong reggae lineup with Bugle, Chronixx, Sizzla, Tarrus Riley, Kabaka Pyramid, Shawn Storm, and more, anchored by the instrumental from the label itself. The project has a softer, more acoustic feel than a straight roots skank, which gives tracks like Chronixx’s Prayer, Bugle’s Covergirl, and the Tarrus Riley x Kabaka Pyramid combination a lot of room to breathe. Izreal Records was still a relatively young Kingston-based outfit at the time, and this set helped underline its ear for conscious voices and heavyweight combinations.
