Antics Riddim – One Time Music

Coming out of Jamaica in 2017, Antics Riddim catches that sharp, digital dancehall moment when the drums hit hard but the groove stays light on its feet. One Time Music keeps the rhythm lean and tense, then lets the vocalists work the pocket differently: Teejay’s “Jet Fly” rides the project with the most lift, while Quada’s “Like Dawg” and Versi’s “Domestic Affair” lean into more streetwise, everyday talk. Almidon, Bryka, D’Judge and Tatik all add their own angle, so the riddim never feels like a one-note exercise. One Time Music, the Jamaican team behind it, would go on to build a stronger run through the late 2010s and early 2020s, and Antics sits right in that era of forward-driving dancehall releases that kept the party energy but sharpened the edge.
