Mailbox Riddim – Fox Fuse 2019

2019 was a busy year for Fox Fuse, and Mailbox Riddim lands in that pocket where dancehall was leaning into clean, hooky party records with a bright, clipped swing. The four-track set keeps the pressure up without overcrowding the riddim: Blaxx’s “Remove Yuhself” brings the sharpest attitude, DJ Jeanie leans into the more playful “Damage It, ” and Kerida slows the pace just enough with “Slow It Down” to give the project some contrast. Shal Marshall closes with “Top Rankin’, ” which feels like the natural final push, riding the instrumental with that familiar big-stage confidence. It’s a compact release, but the sequencing gives it shape, and the production leaves enough room for each voice to cut through.
