4.5 RIDDIM produced by WMG LAB RECORDS 2012
4.5 Overview
In 2012, dancehall in Jamaica was full of energy. Street parties and sound clashes were everywhere. The music was loud and raw, and new riddims kept the dancefloors moving. One riddim that brought real street flavor to these sessions was the 4.5 Riddim. Behind the mixing board, the producer shaped the sound. WMG LAB RECORDS, a label known for pushing fresh talent, released the 4.5 Riddim. WMG LAB RECORDS had already made a name in the dancehall world with digital releases and strong streaming numbers. Their focus on new voices helped them stand out in a busy music scene. The riddim featured a line-up of artists who each gave a unique vibe. Slash delivered “You Look Good,” a track that brought playful lyrics and catchy hooks. Zagga’s “Wine Up” added smooth flows and dance-ready energy. Zagga is also known for his song “My Destination,” which helped him gain attention in reggae and dancehall circles. Alozade brought his veteran skills to “Pull Up Selecta.” Alozade is remembered for his hit “Bad Man Nuh Pet Gal,” which became popular in the early 2000s. Lucky Kidd’s “Naa Dead Poor” and Natty Bredda’s “They Wanna Fight Me” gave the riddim extra depth, showing different sides of dancehall life. The 4.5 Riddim stood strong among the heavy bashment releases of 2012. Its raw sound, talented artists, and skilled production made it a favorite for selectors and fans who wanted real dancehall fire.
