Naan Bread Riddim – New Reggae Industries

Naan Bread hits with a lean, percussive dancehall swing, the kind of 2003 juggling where the rhythm does the heavy lifting and the voices come in sharp around it. Curtis Lynch Jr. keeps New Reggae Industries locked into that UK-linked, sound-system-friendly pocket, and Red Rat’s “One Foot In” feels like the obvious spark in the middle of the set, with Blackout JA’s “Girls Anthem” and Snagga Puss’s “Don’t Tell On Me” keeping the pressure on from different angles. There’s a nice contrast too: Maxwell D’s “Ghetto Youth” leans rougher, while Red Square’s “Crying Out” cuts a little tighter. Eight tracks all told, and the version at the end leaves you with the bare riddim once the verses clear out.
