Modern Girl Overview
The Modern Girl Riddim started as a roots reggae instrumental in a Kingston studio in 1999. Musicians worked closely with the arranger, who wanted to bring back the classic reggae sound but keep it fresh for a new generation. The arranger focused on deep basslines, sharp drums, and smooth melodies, giving the riddim a vintage feel with modern energy. Behind the scenes, DANCE SOUND RECORDS produced the project. Their work has appeared in reggae charts and playlists, making them a respected name in the reggae community. The compilation features some of reggae’s most recognized voices. Brian And Tony Gold perform "I'm Still In Love." The duo are famous for their harmonies and have worked with Shabba Ranks on the hit "Compliments On Your Kiss." Ritchie Stephens delivers "Don't Leave," adding his soulful style. Stephens is known for his hit "Winner" and collaborations with Bounty Killer. Sanchez sings "Modern Girl," showcasing his smooth vocals. Sanchez is celebrated for his covers and original songs, including the popular "Never Dis Di Man."
