Yellow Tape Riddim – Ahrrar Productions

By 2005, dancehall was deep in that jugglin’ era where sharp one-drop patterns and gunman talk often sat right beside party records, and Yellow Tape Riddim lands right in the middle of it. Ahrrar Productions lines up a heavy cast here, with Bounty Killer firing off “Flawless, ” Busy Signal running with “A Weh Busy A Do, ” and Wayne Marshall closing the set on “Party, ” while Daville and Baby G lean into the flashier side with “Get Crazy. ” The production has that brisk, aggressive feel the title suggests, but it still leaves room for tunes like Angel Doolas’ “Get To Work” and Delly Ranks’ “Hands Up” to cut through. Riddim-ID lists 18 tracks and 20 unique artists on the project, with the 2005 issue also including cuts from Lady Saw, Voicemail, and Mavado, who appears with “Hard Like We” on the Yellow Tape entry.
