Yardman Riddim – H2o Records

Rough-cut energy. Yardman Riddim comes in with that hard, streetwise 2016 dancehall swing, and H2O Records keeps the pace taut enough for each voice to carve out its own space. Vybz Kartel’s “Emoji” is the obvious hook in the lineup, but Jahmiel’s “Yard Man” and Masicka’s “Dallaz” sit right in the pocket too, riding the same sharp instrumental with a little more grit and attitude. Bugle, I Octane and Jah Vinci add extra weight without crowding the rhythm, which is part of the charm here; it feels like a compact set built for rewinds, with the instrumental tucked in at the end like a quick reminder of the riddim’s backbone.
