In 1999, the Wisdom Riddim began its journey in a small Kingston studio. The arranger, known for shaping rich roots instrumentals, built the riddim with a focus on uplifting beats and a gentle, steady groove. The producer, REGGAE VIBES, brought years of experience from Jamaica’s reggae scene. REGGAE VIBES had already made a name with several underground hits and was respected for keeping classic reggae sounds alive on their label. As the riddim took shape, it quickly caught the attention of top vocalists. Anthony Malvo recorded "Love Like This," bringing his signature smooth delivery. Malvo had already made waves with tracks like "Come Back to Me," and his voice fit the riddim perfectly. Johnny Osbourne, known worldwide for his hit "Buddy Bye," contributed "Israel," adding depth and conscious lyrics. Marlon Stewart delivered "Need Your Love," giving the project a heartfelt touch. The release also included "Version — Wisdom Riddim," an instrumental cut that allowed selectors and sound system DJs to showcase their skills. Yami Bolo, who had gained international recognition for songs like "Jah Made Them All," closed the collection with "Revolution Red," echoing the conscious spirit of late 1990s reggae.
