Watch Out Aka Livity Riddim – Star Trail 1998
Watch Out Aka Livity Overview
In 1998, a new dancehall set arrived and quickly became a favorite among fans. The project was built on the Watch Out Aka Livity Riddim, a fresh instrumental foundation crafted by the riddim architect known for shaping the sound of late-90s dancehall. The riddim’s tough, streetwise feel made it stand out, and it soon attracted some of the genre’s most respected voices. The journey began in the heart of Jamaica’s music scene, where the riddim was recorded and produced with careful attention to detail. Each layer was designed to bring out the best in the artists. The release opened doors for new talent and gave a platform to voices that would become key players in dancehall. Anthony B delivered “Watch Out,” a track that showcased his powerful style. He was already known for songs like “Fire Pon Rome,” and this release helped cement his reputation as a leading conscious dancehall artist. Determine’s “Unseen Eyes” brought sharp lyrics and a unique flow, adding to the riddim’s energy. Junior Reid, famous for his work with Black Uhuru and his solo hit “One Blood,” contributed “Wings Of The Wind,” filling the track with his signature vocal style. Louie Culture added “A Di Livity,” and Sizzla, who had just released his breakthrough album “Black Woman & Child” in 1997, gave fans “Live Yu Live,” bringing his fiery delivery to the set. Thriller Prince’s “Reggae Campaign” rounded out the lineup.
