WASH BELLY RIDDIM produced by EQUIKNOXX MUSIQ 2013
Wash Belly Overview
In 2013, a new dancehall project changed the sound of the year. Wash Belly Riddim started as a simple idea in the studio. The team at EQUIKNOXX MUSIQ, led by producer Gavin “Gavsborg” Blair, wanted to create a fresh yard beat. EQUIKNOXX MUSIQ had already built a reputation for unique rhythms and innovative production in Jamaican music. Their earlier works, like the Bird Sound Power album, showed their skill in blending classic and modern styles. The Wash Belly Riddim came together with careful attention to detail. Studio craftsmen shaped every drum and bass line, making sure the energy was right. When the riddim was ready, top artists joined the project. Capleton brought his fire to the track Hide, adding his signature intensity. Capleton is known worldwide for songs like “Jah Jah City” and is a key figure in dancehall and reggae. Kemikal delivered No Sah, bringing sharp lyrics and a strong flow. King David’s Seven Sword added a powerful presence to the riddim. RDX, famous for their hit “Bend Over,” gave the party anthem Coconut Oil. Shanz completed the lineup with Let The Music Play, keeping the vibe lively and fun. From studio to dance floor, Wash Belly Riddim captured the spirit of 2013. Each song showed the talent of the artists and the vision of EQUIKNOXX MUSIQ. Even today, the riddim brings back memories of that year’s dancehall energy and creativity.
