Wappings Riddim came out in 2012 on Kick Dem Records, the Jamaican production outfit associated with the same burst of early-2010s dancehall energy that also carried their Dancehall Party material. The juggling sits in hard, modern dancehall territory: rude bass, clipped drums, and a bright, digital edge that leaves plenty of space for vocals to jab through the mix.
Blak Ryno opens with Hungry Gata, bringing the sharp, singjay attack he was known for after rising out of Portmore’s dancehall circuit. Khago’s Fire Shot Nuff pushes the tougher side of the riddim, with the kind of militant, gun-talk delivery that suits the track’s blunt title. Sizzla’s Dead Pon Spot adds more weight; by 2012 he was already a veteran voice in conscious dancehall and roots reggae, and his presence gives the set a harder-earned authority. Ready Fi Dweet pairs Zj Liquid with Raine Seville, and that duet brings a more playful, performance-ready energy, with Raine Seville’s strong female voice cutting cleanly against Liquid’s deejay style.
The most interesting curveball is Brinks Truck, voiced by New Kidz and Sadiki. That cut gives the riddim a more melodic, collaborative feel and helps balance the heavier selections. Taken as a whole, Wappings Riddim feels like a proper juggling built for sound systems: streetwise, percussive, and versatile enough to move from raw confrontation to catchy singalong without losing momentum.
