Walk Wide Riddim – Conselector Sound

Conselector Sound came out swinging with Walk Wide Riddim, a five-cut 2013 set that leans into warm, sunlit reggae rather than anything too hard-edged, and the strongest ear-catcher is probably Mariama’s “Sun and Moonlight, ” where the easy melodic line sits nicely against the riddim’s laid-back swing. Darryl D Blackman opens things with “Somehow, ” while Dr Olugander’s “Your Beautiful Smile” and Niceone’s “Need More Loving” keep the vibe rooted in straightforward lovers’ energy, with Mex Diego’s “Hoy Me Va Bien” giving the project a little extra flavor in Spanish. It’s also the first release from the Germany-based Conselector Sound, a crew that had already spent years working behind the scenes before stepping into production, and they kept the lineup lean here: five artists, five tracks, one riddim.
