WAITING RIDDIM produced by DREDAVIS RECORDS 2017
Waiting Overview
The roots anthology Waiting Riddim was shaped by the careful hands in the studio, where live musicians and engineers worked together to create a classic reggae sound. The producer behind this project, DREDAVIS RECORDS, is known for supporting conscious reggae music and working with both new and established artists. The label has built a reputation in the reggae community for keeping authentic messages strong in their releases. The anthology brought together respected voices in reggae. Chezidek, who is well known for his hit song "Leave De Trees," contributed the track "Jah Light." His unique style added a spiritual energy to the collection. Chuck Fenda, famous for songs like "I Swear" and "Gash Dem," added his powerful message with "In This Life." Dameek, with "Could a Buss That if Mi," offered a modern touch while staying true to roots reggae. Other artists also played important roles. Dereq’s "Son" and Dj Faith’s "Youths" brought fresh perspectives, each reflecting on life and struggles. The anthology also featured HK with "High Grade," Jahchyld’s "Fight di Fight," Masta Link’s "Cyan Be to Much," Potenkli’s "Dem a Try fi Stop Man," and Teflon’s "People Please Dem Self." Each song added a unique voice, but together they kept reggae’s message alive in 2017’s sound systems, blending old-school rhythms with meaningful lyrics.
