Wah Di Talk Riddim – Stashment Production

Wah Di Talk Riddim landed in 2015 from Stashment Production as a straight-up dancehall juggling with a tidy six-cut run and a very current mid-2010s cast. The release came out in June 2015, and the lineup matches the era almost perfectly: Alkaline, Beenie Man, Demarco, I-Octane, Lady Saw and Mavado all step on the same rhythm, each bringing a different shade of attack.

The beat itself is hard and direct, more street-facing than glossy, with the kind of clipped drum pattern and heavy bassline that lets the deejays talk through the pocket. It has the energy of a sound-clash tune, but it is clean enough to work on radio and in mixdowns.
