Valleys Overview

In 2008, reggae’s long nights were alive with the sounds of the Valleys Riddim. This riddim was at the heart of sound system culture, where selectors played dub cuts for crowds that loved heavy bass and echoing drums. The Valleys Riddim brought a steady rhythm, like a heartbeat, to these sessions. Dub cut versions let DJs and MCs show their skills while letting the music breathe. DROP DI BASS RECORDS was the producer behind Valleys Riddim. The label began in Jamaica in the early 2000s and quickly became known for its deep bass production style. DROP DI BASS RECORDS also gained attention for streaming numbers on digital platforms, bringing classic sound system vibes to new listeners worldwide. The foundation of this project started with a strong riddim track. Once built, artists came to voice their own songs on it. Determine’s “Walkout” gave sharp lyrics over the pulsing beat. Demarco brought his song “Put A Foot Inna Mi Bed,” adding singjay energy—Demarco is widely known for his hit single “Fallen Soldiers.” Hell Raiser delivered “Know The Stars,” offering his unique vocal style to the mix. Anthony B’s song “Show Off” added fire; Anthony B has released many international albums and performed worldwide at major reggae festivals. Viper’s song “Wine” brought a dance vibe to the riddim. Each artist used the riddim in a special way, showing their own style.
