Uptownny Riddim – Stickle Productions

QQ’s “Likkle Likkle” is the cut that pulls you into Uptownny Riddim first, with that breezy dancehall swing giving the whole set a sharper edge than the title might suggest. Stickle Productions keeps the riddim lean and club-minded, and the lineup follows suit: TOK’s “Goldmine” adds a veteran’s weight, while Mynimoo’s “Superman” and its Grizzo-assisted remix lean into the playful side of the project. Tikaros’ “A The More Dem Get” sits nicely in that company, chasing the same quick-footed pulse without crowding the arrangement. The release landed in April 2014 and runs seven tracks deep, closing on Stickle Productions’ own instrumental cut, almost like a producer’s signature left on the back end.
