Uprising Riddim – Cmmg Records

Uprising Riddim leans into a clean, rootsy reggae pulse rather than anything flashy, letting the voices carry the weight over a steady, uncluttered groove. CMMG Records put it out on April 4, 2019, and the whole thing feels trimmed to the essentials: six cuts, six artists, no filler. Black Loyalty opens with the pleading “Set Me Free, ” while Isasha’s “Stay Focused” and Khari Kill’s “Protected” keep the message-minded tone running through the set. There’s a nice sense of order to the sequencing too, with King David, King, Ziggy Ranking, and Khari Kill spaced so each tune lands without crowding the next, which gives the riddim a measured, almost side-by-side showcase feel.
