Coming out of Dynasty Records in 2010, Upliftment Riddim lands in that conscious reggae pocket where the message is as important as the swing, with Lutan Fyah’s “Smile Again” and Perfect’s “Sonny Boy” sitting neatly beside Bobby Hustle’s sweeter “Summer Girl” and Dway’s laid-back “Another Day. ” The riddim itself runs a compact five-track set here, and the label even cuts its own version piece, which gives the whole thing a more producer-led feel than a loose vocal compilation. Dynasty had already been working the roots-reggae side of the dancehall era, and this one fits that part of the catalogue: clean, vocal-heavy, and geared toward uplift without getting preachy.
