Sliding in with a warm, rootsy 2009 cut, Up North Riddim keeps the energy steady and uncluttered, the kind of reggae frame that lets the hooks and vocal tones do the talking. Wavestorm Entertainment lines up a tidy seven-song set, with Jigsy King and Chezidek’s “Serious” setting the tone, Sasha’s “Defensive” giving the project one of its sharper moments, and Perfect’s “Be Mine” leaning into a smoother, lover’s-rock edge.
