Two To One Riddim lands in that early-2000s rootsy dancehall pocket where the drum pattern keeps a firm step and the bassline does most of the talking, and Ball A Fire Muzik gives it a clean, militant feel that suits voices like Pinchers, Prezident Brown and Turbulence particularly well. Prezident Brown’s “Prepare Ye The Way” and Turbulence’s “Uprise” are the cuts that latch onto the riddim’s serious edge, while Pinchers’ “She ‘Ll Be” gives the set a more melodic lift; the project was part of a run of Ball A Fire Muzik releases that began around 2001 and helped push the label beyond its German sound-system roots.
