Tutorial Overview

In early 2018, a new soca riddim began to take shape in the studio. Music arranger Phragile worked closely with the production team to craft the vibrant base that would soon become a staple for Carnival events. The creative energy behind the scenes was led by MASHWORKS STUDIO, a production house known for its sharp, modern sound and history of supporting emerging Caribbean talent. Over the years, MASHWORKS STUDIO has built a reputation for quality releases, helping several artists gain traction on streaming platforms. As the riddim came together, artists were invited to add their unique voices. D'Regulars and Phragile teamed up for “Hot Head,” blending catchy hooks with energetic delivery. Killa B contributed “Deaf,” bringing his signature style that fans had come to expect after his earlier collaborations in the soca scene. Loosebehavior Squad delivered “No Option,” while SHORTPREE, known for his 2018 hit “Soca Nice,” energized the project with “Sauce.” Smallz rounded out the lineup with “Working Police,” adding another layer of excitement. When Carnival season arrived, the riddim’s infectious rhythm and powerful lyrics made it a favorite at fetes and on the road. Its strong presence during 2018’s celebrations showed how a well-crafted base, talented artists, and experienced production could create a lasting impact.
