Tri-Circle Riddim – Nuh Rush Records

128 BPM · 8A 2021 Dancehall 4 cuts

Tri-Circle Riddim arrived in July 2021 on Nuh Rush Records, the Spanish Town-rooted imprint driven by Junior “I Am Nuh Rush” Brown. Brown has described his work as coming out of a ghetto reality and a love for “real reggae music, ” and that same seriousness runs through the label’s modern dancehall catalog, which has paired straight-to-the-point vocals with clean, club-ready production.

This riddim keeps things lean and punchy. The beat rides on a heavy bassline and sharp percussion, with playful synth touches that give it bounce without cluttering the mix. It has that fast-moving, party-ready feel dancehall fans lock into quickly, but there’s enough space in the arrangement for each vocalist to stamp a different mood on it. The full set runs just four cuts, all by two artists: Busy Signal and Jovi Dipree.

Busy Signal’s “Bruk Dung Di Bed” is the immediate hook. He sells the song with his familiar singjay confidence, turning the riddim into a blunt, flirtatious dancefloor tune that pushes movement and attitude over anything overly lyrical. Jovi Dipree’s “Tri-Circle” brings a different energy, sitting a little more inside the pocket and helping define the project’s identity by giving the riddim its name as well as one of its core statements. Together, the two versions make the release feel more like a focused showcase than a broad juggling, and Busy Signal’s cut is the one most likely to grab first-time listeners.
