Top Shelf Riddim feels like one of those early-2000s dancehall sets that knew exactly how to keep the dance moving: hard-edged, a little rowdy, and packed with names that could carry a sound system session on their own. Shabba Ranks headlines the lineup with “Chatty Mouth” in both radio and rude boy mixes, which gives the project its sharpest anchor, while Sizzla’s “All You Girl” and Bunji Garlin’s “Hannibal” add extra weight and range. Bunji was still carving his lane here, and his presence alongside Shabba and Sizzla gives the riddim a nice cross-generational pull. Bud and Sasha keep it lively on the more melodic side, and the version at the end closes things out the way a proper dancehall production should: vocals first, then the bare riddim left exposed for selector replay.
