Tonight Riddim’s deep basslines and steady drums made it perfect for selectors and MCs to move the crowd. At the center of the project was Penthouse Records, a respected label in reggae and dancehall. Founded by Donovan Germain in 1987, Penthouse has helped launch the careers of artists like Buju Banton and Beres Hammond. The label is known for its high-quality productions and has influenced the sound of modern reggae. This release featured a select group of artists. Bugle Feat. Dexta Daps delivered “Saddest Day,” blending Bugle’s conscious style with Dexta Daps’ soulful voice. Dexta Daps is known for his hit “7 Eleven,” which has been a staple in dancehall since 2015. De offered his own take with “Saddest Day,” adding a unique flavor to the riddim. Duane Stephenson Feat. Exco Levi teamed up for “That-‘s What She Loves.” Duane Stephenson is recognized for his album “From August Town,” which gained international attention. The lineup was rounded out by Slashe with “Don’t Let Go,” completing the project’s rootsy vibe.
