Tic Tac Riddim – Dudley Mrsofamous Frederick

From the Trinidad and Tobago soca circuit in 2017 came a bright little set from Dudley “MrSoFamous” Frederick, with 11 cuts and a full dozen artists riding the same Tic Tac pulse. The riddim has that quick, playful island swing you’d expect from a road-season tool, and the names tell their own story: Bougfoo gets things moving with “Rock It, ” Crown turns in the sharper “Red Eye, ” and Mantius’ “White Now” sits nicely against the more tongue-in-cheek entries like “Wifi” and “Meow. ” Frederick himself keeps a track in the mix too, which helps tie the whole thing together without crowding it. It’s the kind of soca package that feels made for the road and the stage, right down to the little instrumental aside tucked in the middle.
